“He Can Go to Jail”: Ryan Garcia Threatens to Sue ESPN for Allowing Timothy Bradley to Keep His Job After “Zoo Animal” Comparison (2024)

Ryan Garcia is acting like a wounded animal right now! Even though the PED scandal has backed him up against a corner, he will not go down without a fight. He has been active on social media, picking up a fight against anyone who is ridiculing him for getting popped for the banned substance Ostarine. A one-year suspension, sacrificing his fight purse, and a win against long-time rival Devin Haney overturned – the penalizations have been a demoralizing experience. But it isn’t enough for former two-division champion Timothy Bradley. “It should have been two years or a life ban. The only way to stop this s*** is you got to nip it in the bud. You got to give life bans for these guys,” Bradley said in an interview.

But this isn’t the first time the boxing Hall of Famer attacked Garcia. After the Victorville native’s failed fight negotiations with Rolly Romero back in February of this year, the ESPN analyst called him a “clown” who belonged in the “zoo”. Referencing this comment in his latest spate of attacks on Timothy, ‘KingRy’ has threatened to file a lawsuit against the broadcasting company for allowing the former two-division champion to air his views. On top of that, Garcia made sure that the “double standard” in Bradley’s dig was apparent to everybody.

Past transgressions will not be forgiven!

A series of tweets have been fired out by Garcia on account of Bradley’s latest comment on NYSAC’s guilty verdict on Garcia’s PED usage. “The real villain and the real loser is Ryan Garcia….I am just keeping it 100. What are we doing? Why are we praising this guy? Why?” Bradley said with conviction.

Garcia, who is still on a mission to claim his innocence, fired back at Bradley with a personal insult on X, “He is mad bc his hair hasn’t grown back since third grade and his commentary skills are TRASH, CACA BRAIN” ‘KingRy’ posted on X, referencing Timothy’s baldness.

Then, the 25-year-old boxer posted a series of tweets referencing Bradley’s “zoo animal” dig and threatened to sue ESPN for giving him a platform to express those views. Moreover, he pointed out the “double standard” in his comments, by stating that if the tables were turned, and it was him making those comments, he would be labeled a ‘racist’.

“Timothy Bradley said I belong in the zoo If I said that that would be racist Double standards are wild,” Ryan wrote on X, following it up with, “Timothy Bradley works for espn and espn still lets him commentate Sick work I may sue espn.”

Not finished with his Twitter tirade, Garcia took one last dig at Bradley. “Timothy Bradley is so corny You have no idea Like it’s bad, he can go to jail for sucking d*ck.” he wrote, making a wild accusation against the retired boxer.

The bad blood between Garcia and Timothy started long before the PED scandal, and the “clown” reference. Previously, Bradley had called Garcia a quitter for not being able to continue in the fight against Davis after eating a liver shot in the seventh round. But, that wasn’t all, he also cast aspersions on Garcia’s boxing prowess, stating that he doesn’t have the minerals to beat the top boxers in the 140-pound weight class. Safe to say, Bradley and Garcia don’t have the best of interpersonal dynamics.

On that note, what does Bradley think Haney’s next course of action should be after he got dominated by Garcia on April 20th?

A break from all the drama?

Haney announced on Twitter that he would be taking a two-year break from boxing. Well, going 12 rounds against a juiced-up Garcia does take a toll on the body. Commenting on the matter, Bradley said, “Yeah, he should take a long break. He should. The beating that he took. Now, it’s mental.”

However, that will not be stopping Haney from pursuing further legal action against Garcia for causing a huge dent in his reputation as a fighter. He has argued that the loss against Garcia, which has now been scrubbed off the record, has affected him “financially” and “mentally”.

To put things into perspective: Top Rank’s bid for Devin Haney’s upcoming fight against Sandor Martin came up to a measly $2.42million, and Haney would be earning a fight purse of $1.53million, a significant downgrade from the Garcia fight and most of his previous bouts.

As the saga outside the boxing ring continues, are you happy with NYSAC’s ruling against Garcia? or, do you agree with Bradley and think it was lenient? or, do you think the boxing hall of famer has a personal agenda against Garcia? Let us know in the comment section below.
